September 06, 2018 - one year later (we have lost our temporary sea view from the round house)

 

One of our regular guests, Terri Joswick, suggested that returning guests could bring a couple of books so that we could restock the bookshelves in the units - We think this is a wonderful idea.

We also lost many photos of the old building, so, if anyone has nice photos from WAAAAAAAAAAY back, could you if possible please scan them and email to us, Thank you, Thank you.

We put wood strips in the concrete formwork to try to have the upper floor concrete walls appear to be wood with wood siding (we don't want a boring concrete box)  ..................

Here's how it looks on the west side wall with a coat of primer paint (facing Las Arenas), The rebar sticking up is for a small parapet wall that will be tied into the roof framing.(there is a 200mm (8 inch) concrete roof slab over the whole upper floor)
